Fashion, a general term for the style and custom prevalent at a given time, in its most common usage refers to costume or clothing style. The more technical term, costume, has become so linked in the public eye with the term "fashion" that the more general term "costume" has in popular use mostly been relegated to special senses like fancy dress or masquerade wear, while the term "fashion" means clothing generally, and the study of it. This linguistic switch is due to the fashion plates which were produced during the Industrial Revolution, showing the latest designs. For a broad cross-cultural look at clothing and its place in society, refer to the entries for clothing, costume and fabrics. The remainder of this article deals with clothing fashions in the Western world. From Wikipedia under the

From Google News Search: "Fashion" What is the difference between fashion marketing and fashion merchandising? Q. Asked by oosweetdreamoo15 - Wed Oct 10 17:31:52 2007 - - 1 Answers - 3 Comments A. it doesnt really matter they both are the samething if you search for more information on the two you can be a fashion buyer for both of them and also make sure you go to a good school not one that advertise itself on tv late at night those always seem a little sketchy go to top cities like miami, los angelos, new york, chicago and parts of europe..its a risk but its a great career Answered by simply unforgettable - Fri Oct 12 22:01:22 2007 What fashion show had models covered in blood? Q. I know a few years back there was a fashion show (by I want to say YSL or Valentino) that featured models covered in blood. I know there is one that had a single model covered in blood acting as if she had been stabbed, but that is not it. I was just hoping someone could find out and send me a link about it. I know there is one like this, but I haven't found it yet. She had everyone including us convinced she had been stabbed backstage! Gross, by also slightly funny when we realised she was ok! Q. I am trying to get noticed in the fashion world so i can become a stylist/cosmetologist/fas hion designer, but i just don't know how to do it. I live in California and i'm planning on going to a fashion school next year. I was inspired by Lauren Conrad(the hills), she got an opportunity that rarely comes. I guess it's really not what you know, but who you know. Asked by pink_candy18@sbcglobal.net - Fri Mar 30 15:24:44 2007 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments A. Go to fashion week and sneak into a runway show. It's not hard to talk the people to let you in. Lots of important fashion industry people will be there. Don't be a pest but if given the chance introduce yourself to some people Friends of mine have gotten internships from doing this If you can't sneak in hang out right outside the show Answered by Lee D - Tue Apr 3 14:26:58 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Fashion" Fashion refers to styles of dress (but can also include cuisine, literature, art, architecture, and general comportment) that are popular in a culture at any given time. Such styles may change quickly, and "fashion" in the more colloquial sense refers to the latest version of these styles. Inherent in the term is the idea that the mode will change more quickly than the culture as a whole. This theme article is a stub. You can help Wikiquote by expanding it.Quotes
